Vircell participates in the MMTN Indonesia Workshop 2025 to strengthen collaboration in medical mycology

Vircell took part in the Medical Mycology Training Network (MMTN) Indonesia Workshop 2025, held in Manado, Indonesia. The event, organized with the Indonesian Society for Human and Animal Mycology (INSHAM) and Sam Ratulangi University, gathered more than 100 professionals and researchers focused on improving the detection and management of invasive fungal infections across Asia.

A collaborative platform for advancing fungal research

This year’s edition marked the return of MMTN to Indonesia after a decade, combining hands-on laboratory training with clinical sessions that promoted dialogue between mycologists, clinicians, and laboratory professionals. The workshop served as a meeting point to share knowledge and discuss new strategies for early fungal infection detection and laboratory innovation.

Vircell’s contribution: from clinical insight to laboratory solutions

As part of the scientific sessions, Alejandro Martín, member of Vircell’s SALES team, delivered a presentation on invasive fungal infections, addressing clinical challenges and highlighting the importance of reliable and efficient detection tools.
During his talk, he introduced the VirClia® Galactomannan Monotest (CLIA), a fully automated chemiluminescent immunoassay designed for the rapid detection of galactomannan antigen in serum and BAL samples.

Supporting global mycology networks

For Vircell, participating in MMTN Indonesia 2025 reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in medical mycology. Events like MMTN provide valuable opportunities to strengthen connections with experts and institutions dedicated to combating fungal infections worldwide.

Vircell extends its appreciation to the organizers, speakers, and participants for a successful and inspiring meeting.
