Rapid differentiation between Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and clinically relevant nontuberculous mycobacteria is important for early clinical decision-making. Mycobacterium RealTime PCR Kit Vircell was evaluated in 721 respiratory and non-respiratory specimens for the detection of MTBC, MAC, MABC and other NTM. The assay showed high specificity and strong concordance with a comparator molecular method, supporting its role in routine mycobacterial diagnostics.
Evaluation of a new CT/NG/TV/MG Real-Time PCR Kit (Vircell) versus the Allplex STI Essential Assay (Seegene) for the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections

Molecular testing enables sensitive detection of major sexually transmitted infection pathogens across genital and extragenital sample types. CT/NG/TV/MG Real-Time PCR Kit Vircell was compared with Allplex STI Essential Assay for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium. The assay showed 99.53% overall sensitivity, 99.84% specificity and excellent concordance, supporting its use as a reliable molecular option for routine STI diagnosis.

Galactomannan testing is central to laboratory support for invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, but batch-based workflows may delay result availability. In this real-life prospective experience, Aspergillus Galactomannan Ag Virclia Monotest was compared with the Platelia Aspergillus Antigen assay in serum and lower respiratory tract specimens. Virclia showed high sensitivity for proven/probable invasive pulmonary aspergillosis and comparable overall ROC performance, while its automated monotest format supports same-day, random-access galactomannan testing in routine clinical laboratories.
Evaluation of the Vaginal Panel Realtime PCR kit (Vircell, SL) for diagnosing vaginitis: A comparative study with routinely used diagnostics

Vaginitis diagnosis is challenging because symptoms often overlap across bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis and trichomoniasis. In this study, Vaginal Panel Realtime PCR Kit Vircell showed strong agreement with routine diagnostic methods, with 93.1% sensitivity for bacterial vaginosis and 96.0% sensitivity for Candida species detection. The assay also identified additional Candida and Trichomonas vaginalis-positive samples, supporting the value of multiplex NAATs for faster and broader laboratory investigation of vaginitis.
Evaluation of clinical usefulness of a commercial multiplex PCR for diagnosing mycobacterial infections: a multicenter study

Mycobacterial infections require rapid differentiation between tuberculosis and clinically relevant nontuberculous mycobacteria, as treatment and infection control decisions differ substantially. In this prospective multicenter study, Mycobacterium Real-Time PCR Kit Vircell enabled direct detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, Mycobacterium avium complex and Mycobacterium abscessus complex from respiratory samples. The assay showed high specificity across all targets and strong performance for MTBC, particularly in smear-positive specimens, supporting its value as a rapid molecular tool to complement culture and guide earlier clinical decision-making.
Detection of intrathecal IgG antibody for varicella and measles diagnosis by evaluation and comparison of a commercial IgG chemiluminescent immunoassay with two ELISAs

CSF diagnosis of infectious neurological disorders often requires evidence of pathogen-specific intrathecal antibody production. VirClia® Measles and Varicella-Zoster IgG monotests were assessed in paired CSF and serum samples for antibody index determination. Compared with established ELISA methods, VirClia® showed strong agreement and high ROC performance, supporting the potential of automated CLIA technology in CSF-based laboratory investigation.

Invasive aspergillosis remains difficult to diagnose in hematologic patients, especially when antifungal prophylaxis or treatment may reduce biomarker sensitivity. In this retrospective study, Aspergillus Galactomannan Ag VirClia® Monotest showed comparable performance to Platelia, with 100% sensitivity and 83% specificity in the evaluated cohort. Its automated monotest format supports its potential integration into routine workflows for serum galactomannan detection in patients at risk of invasive aspergillosis.
